In 1952 a good friend of my fathers, Harry D. Weddle started his own company, he called it PORTABLE STEAM CLEANING. Harry would steam clean just about anything but he soon found that he could actually make a living cleaning and repairing shopping carts.    In 1977 after working for Harry Weddle for a number of years my father Ernie Sr. and my mother Pat (who is now deceased) purchased portable steam cleaning and made a lot of changes.  First they incorporated then they started doing business as Ernie's Shopping Cart Specialties. They also built a large building to work out of. Well it was large to us then, we could fit twenty of those buildings in our present location.  We now call Bates City Missouri home. We are right off I-70 in the center of the country which makes it great for shipping.

  We still to this day clean and repair shopping carts, but we also sell used shopping carts as well as all the accessories and replacement parts needed.

  In 1990 after manufacturing shopping cart corrals for over fifteen years my father developed a new cart corral that he was able to patent.  We still use that patent today on the cart corrals that we build.  His patent allows the corral to be shipped to you completely assembled and folded to a mere 4" wide.  One person can unfold and set up the corral in seconds, there are no tools needed and there are no nuts and bolts.

  Ernie's Sr's patent saves the customer money.  Since the cart corrals ship folded they are easy to ship and store if needed and store personnel can easily handle the set up.  There is no need for a maintenance crew to be involved.
